International Medical Volunteer Program in Peru
We invite you to be part of a transformative experience that will leave a profound mark on your life and the community!
Join the International Medical Volunteer Program in Peru, a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of the Andes and collaborate on a public health project that makes a difference in the lives of thousands of people. This program is designed for anyone passionate about medical sciences, whether you are a student, technician, professional, graduate, or specialist. If you are interested in providing quality medical care, working on community awareness, or supporting with your knowledge in public health, this is your moment!
What are you going to do?
You will work in rural health centers located in the city of Huancayo, in the Mantaro Valley. These small hospitals, where primary care is the foundation, face enormous challenges: lack of resources, limited staff, and a high percentage of the population lacking proper access to medical care. However, your work will be essential, both in the hospital setting and beyond.
Your participation will be key in areas such as:
• Primary care in general medicine, gynecology-obstetrics, pediatrics, emergencies, and more. • Vaccination and deworming campaigns aimed at children. • Health and healthy living awareness campaigns in schools and communities. • Home visits to individuals with limited mobility, elderly people, and pregnant women. • Support for programs dedicated to the most vulnerable populations, such as children and the elderly.
- You will receive a certificate for your contribution as an international volunteer in the Medical/Public Health Project.
The Need
The rural hospitals in the Andean region of Peru are facing a severe crisis. Neglected by the government, with limited resources and inadequate infrastructure, these health centers struggle every day to provide care to the poorest and most vulnerable people in the area. The population most in need of these services includes children, the elderly, and people who cannot access specialized medical care. In this context, your work as a volunteer will be a vital contribution.
